Review: The Blink of Her Eye by Angelica Thaddeus

When I was first approached to review the erotic thriller "The Blink of Her Eye" by Angelica Thaddeus, I felt a bit of trepidation because this really isn't a genre that appeals to me.  I usually picture the authors of these kind of books to be large, sweaty men living in a studio apartment banging out their sexual fantasies on an old 386 pc.  I expect misspellings, grammatical errors and a sentence structure that can only be described as staccato.

I am very pleased to announce that Angelica Thaddeus proved me wrong.  Not only is she 100% woman, she writes with a talent that transcends her chosen genre.  Her characters are well drawn out and described in such detail that it's not hard to draw a mental picture of what they look like.  The steamy sex scenes are so well written that you become drawn into them and bring out your inner voyeur making you feel you are right there watching in the same room.

The story revolves around a young hospital compliance officer named Anika who, while on duty,  is viciously attacked by a deranged man claiming she killed his wife.  Just as thing are looking very grave for Anika, hunky beefcake Gabriel rushes to her rescue and saves her just as she is ready to teeter over the edge of the great abyss.  When reading about Gabriel it's very easy to picture Alcide Herveaux. By the way, Alcide, is French for Hercules, so yeah, Gabriel is like that.

"Blink" was really a pleasure to read.  Violence, sex, well written and not inconceivable plot-twists, this is, bottom line, an excellently written medical thriller with sex hot enough to require sunscreen to read.

The Kindle version of "The Blink of Her Eye" is available here:

****1/2 out of *****
